Professor Youn Suk Lee appointed as Adjunct Professor at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (November 2024)
The Food Packaging Lab at Yonsei University Mirae Campus extends its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Youn Suk Lee on his appointment as an Adjunct Professor at Chulalongkorn University (CHU), one of Thailand’s most prestigious universities.

Chulalongkorn University, recognized as a leading national research institution in Thailand, holds an esteemed position in global university rankings. According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, CHU is ranked 211th out of 2,963 universities worldwide and has been ranked as Thailand’s top university for 15 consecutive years since 2009. Additionally:
- In the THE World University Rankings 2024, CHU is ranked 1st in Thailand and 601-800th globally.
- In the 2020 World University Rankings by US News & World Report, it was ranked 522nd globally, 81st among Asian universities, and 1st among Thai universities.
As an adjunct professor at Chulalongkorn University, Prof. Lee envisions a robust framework for international academic collaboration and research synergy. His plans include actively supervising the theses of international joint students, ensuring high-quality academic output and fostering a global perspective among the young scholars. Additionally, Prof. Lee will supervise overseas exchange internships, providing students with hands-on, cross-cultural learning opportunities to enhance their skills and broaden their professional networks. Beyond these initiatives, he will lead and participate in international joint research projects, leveraging the strengths of both Yonsei University Mirae Campus and Chulalongkorn University to tackle global challenges in packaging, logistics, and sustainability.

Graduate students from the Food Packaging Laboratory, led by Professor Youn Suk Lee, presented their innovative research at the 66th Fall Conference of the Korean Society of Packaging Science and Technology, held from October 30-November 1, 2024, in Yeosu, South Korea.

He delivered an insightful oral presentation on his research topic:“Facile Green Synthesis of Biocompatible Carbon Quantum Dots from Ginkgo biloba Residue Leaves: A Sustainable Approach for Food Packaging Application.”
This pioneering work demonstrated an innovative method to transform Ginkgo biloba residue leaves into sustainable carbon quantum dots, paving the way for eco-friendly advancements in food packaging technologies.
